What are the long-term benefits of sorority life?
The benefits of sorority life well surpass your time in college. One advantage includes networking, using your membership in Greek life or a specific organization as a commonality when applying for internships, jobs or making new connections.

Organizations also offer programs or “life-time loyalty” to alumni of their chapters, encouraging further participation or volunteer opportunities to those looking to stay involved.

What are the advantages and benefits of joining Fraternity and Sorority Life?
FSL at Florida Southern College has many benefits that you may not find in other organizations on campus. We take pride in what our community has to offer once a student accepts membership into a fraternity or sorority.

Joining a fraternity or sorority allows students to develop leadership skills, promotes academic excellence and achievement, and provides students with many hands-on philanthropic opportunities. Fraternities and sororities are also values-based organizations, and there is an expectation that members are to uphold these values established by their founders.

If I join a fraternity or sorority, can I participate in other extracurriculars?
Yes! Sororities encourage participation in other extracurriculars, as they can aid academic performance and social interests. In fact, most students involved in Greek life participate in other clubs, sports and campus activities.
3
What is the time commitment of being a chapter member?
Time management plays a crucial role for all students enrolled in college, and everyone manages their time differently. Many students in sorority life are able to balance their academics, jobs, internships and other involvement on campus while being actively involved with their chapter. There are several opportunities for leadership within a fraternity or sorority. The type and number of leadership positions available depends on the organization. However, common leadership opportunities include executive positions (ie. president), philanthropy chair and social chair.
